In a significant step towards the revitalization of the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company (GCMC), the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, led by Deputy Minister Hon. Richard Gyan-Mensah, convened a crucial meeting with key stakeholders. This gathering included representatives from the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), which oversees the Cylinder Recirculation Module (CRM) and bottling plants, as well as major industry players such as Blue Oceans Investments, Ghana Oil Limited (GOIL), and NewGas.
The recent series of meetings focused on outlining the critical role each bottling plant can play in supporting the government’s initiative to enhance the operations of GCMC. Stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring a steady flow of business to GCMC by guaranteeing a consistent supply of cylinders through the CRM.
Hon. Richard Gyan-Mensah emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to boost operational efficiency and sustainability within the cylinder manufacturing sector. “The cooperation of our partners is vital in fulfilling our goals for GCMC and ensuring that the company not only thrives but also contributes significantly to energy accessibility and safety in Ghana,” he stated.
The discussions highlighted ongoing commitments by bottling plants to engage actively with GCMC, fostering a symbiotic relationship that prioritizes the sustainability of the CRM. This collaborative effort aims to improve product availability, uphold safety standards, and enhance customer service within the industry.
As Ghana continues its journey towards energy transition, the ministry remains dedicated to facilitating dialogues that bring together all relevant stakeholders.
