Dr Yakubu A Yakubu, is an Economist, Applied Statistician and Data Scientist, with interests in Macroeconomics and Finance, Econometric and statistical modeling, Debt Sustainability, Macro-prudential Policies and Financial Stability. With experience in both industry and academy, the President appointed Yakubu as Chairman of the Governing Board of Directors of Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company, inaugurated on May 2, 2025.

Yakubu holds a PhD from Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in Cape Town South Africa, MSc in Statistical Sciences from University of the Western Cape in Cape Town South Africa, MA in Economic Policy Management from Ghana (UG), PGP in Data Science and Business Analytics (with Distinction /Cum Laude) from University of Texas (UT) USA, BCom in Economics and Mathematical Statistics (Fort Hare University). He also has many certificates including CMEPM (with Distinction/Cum Laude) from Rhodes University in Grahamstown South Africa, and a Dip in Statistics from Ghana (UG).

As a researcher, Yakubu has published extensively in several international reputable journals including International Journal of Social Economics under Emerald and International Journal of Business Ecosystem & Strategy. He has also presented papers in both local international conferences including the International Statistical Institute (ISI). As part of his contribution to the community, Yakubu was the Treasurer for the Population Association of Southern Africa (PASA) from 2011-12. He is the first recipient of PASA Best Poster Award (2009). He is currently a Central University of Technology (in South Africa) Visiting Research Fellow where he co-supervises Doctoral students Entrepreneurship, Finance and Management Sciences.

Yakubu was a head of department in the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Hohoe (2017-2018). He is a co-founder of Africa DATA Reporting and Training Institute (AfriDATA Reporting Solutions Pty, a Consulting firm in South Africa and Ghana). He is the Executive Director, Chief Researcher and Senior Economist in same firm. Dr Yakubu’s works focus mainly on economics, statistics, development, environment, health, impact evaluation and entrepreneurship. He provides technical support and consulting services to individuals and organizations on mainstreaming the environment, social and governance (ESG) into development planning. As part of his research and academic experience journey, Yakubu was a Researcher after a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, and an Economics Lecturer at the Graduate Centre for Management (GCM) from 05/2020 – 06/2023 at the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences, in Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), Cape Town, South Africa. He chaired the research committee at the GCM, and mentorsed students in both research and economics. Yakubu was actively involved in writing the department’s grants applications and working on South Africa’s Bank SETA funded Project.

Working as an Ag. Director of Research and M&E at the Northern Development Authority, Yakubu led the activities in the directorate of research, monitoring and evaluation. His tasks among others, involved leading the M&E team including the consultants in the design of the M&E Framework and its implementation. Yakubu was also active in the development coordination role in the Zone and in the supervision various projects. Yakubu was actively involved in the UNDP technical working activities for the compilation of the Savannah Zone’s Human Development Report in 2016.

At the South African National Office of Statistics (Stats SA) from 2007 – 2013, where Yakubu was a Senior Survey Statistician, he served as a Provincial / Regional Survey Statistician. He served on Technical and/or organising committees on statistical development including Young African Statisticians Summit (YASC), Africa Symposia on Statistical Development (ASSD), and the International Statistical Institute (ISI2009).

Mr. Abdul-Rahman is a highly skilled and experienced professional who comes into this role with over 12 years of experience in the Energy Sector. He has held various portfolios at the Ministry of Energy and the Electricity Company of Ghana where he played critical roles in the improvement of the Energy Sector in Ghana.

Mr. Rahman also has extensive experience in Accounting, Finance and Corporate Governance where he brings this experience to bear on all project teams he has joined or led.

Mr. Abdul-Rahman has an impressive academic record across various disciplines which gives him a very good understanding of issues and therefore makes him a problem solver. He holds two Masters’ degrees from University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) where he pursued Master of Business Administration and Finance respectively. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Accounting from University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

Rauf possess considerable experience in the sale and marketing sphere of the petroleum downstream industry where he led and supervised significant inroads into unchartered waters.

He has had impactful stints in the public sector spanning years of broad experience as a Researcher in Ghana’s Parliament and a member of the board of trustees of the Student Loan Trust Fund where his distinctive role helped reshape both policy and outcomes positively.

Rauf is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana, having obtained a Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law.

His areas of interest in law include, but not limited to Litigation, Land law, Debt Recovery, Human rights law, Corporate & Commercial law

With a wealth of experience in both the public and private sectors, she brings strategic leadership, policy expertise, and a results-driven approach to governance and community development.

As the current Member of Parliament for Akuapem South, she is committed to charting a path that will inure to the overall benefit of her constituents. She is particularly interested in drawing in investors and advocating for policies geared towards driving economic growth, youth development, tourism boost and infrastructural development in her constituency.

Her career spans leadership roles in corporate management, finance, and human resources, providing her with a unique perspective on national development issues. Hon. Lawrencia Dziwornu is also an advocate for women’s empowerment, youth development and advocacy, and social welfare. It is therefore not surprising that she serves on three committees in Parliament- Youth and Sport, Independent Constitutional Bodies and Human Rights Committee. These committees afford her the rare opportunity to contribute towards strengthening State institutions through her oversight responsibilities.
