As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company (GCMC) reaffirmed its commitment to the health and well-being of its employees by hosting a special breast cancer awareness and screening session at its premises.
A team of qualified medical doctors and health professionals from Danpong Hospital visited the company to educate staff on breast cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment. The session focused on helping employees understand the importance of regular self-examination, early reporting of symptoms and routine medical screening.
Following the education session, staff were given the opportunity to undergo free breast cancer screening to check for any irregularities or early signs of the disease. The exercise was well-received, with many employees participating and expressing appreciation for the company’s proactive approach to promoting health awareness.
Speaking at the event, management emphasized that health and safety remain central to GCMC’s values — not only in product quality and workplace safety but also in ensuring the physical well-being of staff.
The event formed part of GCMC’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and its ongoing efforts to support national campaigns for early detection and prevention of breast cancer.
