
The Cylinder Investment Margin (CIM) Committee paid a courtesy call on Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company (GCMC) as part of a working visit aimed at strengthening collaboration and familiarizing itself with the company within the value chain of the Cylinder Recirculation Module space.
The visit formed part of the Committee’s mandate to engage key stakeholders within the CRM manufacturing and distribution value chain, and to assess the alignment of industry practices with approved guidelines and standards.
During the engagement, the GCMC team took the Committee through detailed presentations and practical demonstrations of its core production, quality assurance, and safety processes. Discussions also highlighted GCMC’s adherence to regulatory frameworks, continuous improvement initiatives, and its role in supporting the Cylinder Recirculation Module.
The team led by Ntiwaa Kwakye – Director Gas, NPA expressed satisfaction with the operational systems and controls observed during the visit. They commended GCMC for its commitment to maintaining high manufacturing standards and for its contribution to the growth of the CRM. The other members include Abass Ibrahim Tasunti – Director ER&P, NPA, A representative from COMAC, Oscar Cyril Mingah, a rep from CBOD, Obed Kraine Boachie – Head Gas Commercial Regulation, NPA, Gabriel Amppiah – Head Downstream Marketing & Distribution Unit, MoEGT, Michael Osei Boateng – Officer, Gas (Commercial Regulation), NPA and Prince Nuamah Amoako – NPA.
The GCMC team, in turn, expressed appreciation to the Committee for the visit and the opportunity to share insights into its operations. Management noted that such engagements strengthen institutional collaboration and promote transparency and mutual understanding across the industry.
The visit concluded on a positive note, with both teams reaffirming their commitment to continued cooperation in advancing safety, compliance, and efficiency for the implementation of safe CRM.
